Here is again a part which the inatentif visitor will cross without paying attention to it. However, the hall was one of the principal entries of the castle. Located at the outlet of the famous horseshoe staircase built under Louis XIII, it also made possible to the King to reach the platform of the chapel. And even if the visit of the chapel of the Trinity is planned for later, the open door makes it possible to benefit from an original point of view: that one even as had our sovereigns at the time whom they assisted the mass. This hall also comprises very beautiful doors in carved oak surrounded of a rich person framing of stone. From the reign of Louis XIII currently remain:
- Towards the chapel : the door and its framing, decorated both with religious reasons (angels, crown of spines...) |
- Towards the terrace: a framing made up of trophies of weapons, heads of lion and masks |
- Towards the Galery François 1er, the door and its framing which also comprise military reasons, heads of Hercules, and the symbol of the King. |
The other doors were copied at the XIXème century from that which serves the François 1st Galery .
